After these cuts, I think it will be harder than ever for this company to attract talented employees. I would never come back here again. Leadership moves do huge damage to the company in the long term.

GF does not care as they just plan to hire from community college and local universities like SUNY to run the manufacturing business with cheap wages. I think GF has done well to promote all failed, incompetent and aged guys to managers so that they never leave ( as they will never find a job outside guaranteed) . GF knew that talented and competent employees will not like to stay in GF as there is no challenge and career growth left. Level 7-12 looks same job .. just change name from section manager to Sr Director to keep the confused and incompetent guys stay as they see their grade higher even if they do same job.
It is very clear that GF as bottom feeder foundry with low cost manufacturing will always look to reduce cost in absence of cutting edge beyond 14 nm. Top guys TSMC, Samsung and Intel are way beyond 14 nm and soon GF will be hard pressed when they start reducing cost as volume goes down due to reduced demand.
So what is the solution?
Unless we do not have capability to leave this he-l or we have connection, better jump the ship before it is too late.
GF will keep loosing its significance due to pricing war and Mubadala will have no option but to sell or close it . I doubt any buyer will tolerate this incompetent and biased leadership which has destroyed the whole culture just to keep their own agenda.
And Malaysia…
GF doesn't want to attract talent in US, DRS or SGP, they are shedding headcount at each of these sites to replace with folks in Bangalore and Bulgaria!!
They have never attracted talent. Only the desperate come to GF
Like they always have. Hiring people off the street at the same or higher wage than people who have been there for several years. The experienced people complain, and GF acts like they do you a favor when they match 6 months later.
