Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Contract

I work in mechanical and we don’t get told much by our union leadership, therefore we don’t always get details. Can anyone tell me what influenced the engineers to accept the offer? As I said, we are in the dark. Thank you

Some Engineers bust their butts but it's either say yes or you will lose all the perks you already have. It's a no brainer.

Oddly enough every engineer I asked said they were a no vote. I would imagine many of the yard engineers with good seniority probably were the main ones voting for it to pass as they usually have set days to work, holidays off and a more normal life. The thru freight guys are the ones being beat to Schiff. I imagine many BNSF engineers voted yes because they would be getting some relief from Hi-Viz from the TA
