I worked union shops when I was younger. The relationship between management and workers was awful and near nonexistent. I saw less qualified and skilled employees make more money simply based on seniority. You’ll have a shop steward that you have to have present when any discussions with management take place. It’s restrictive. Oh, and unions suffer layoffs as much as non-union. Why do you think the big automakers, appliance manufactures and durable good pick up and leave the country? Unions…. Unions negotiated themselves out of the job market.
