Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Why would a director take PTO until Dec 12

Director took PTO when LR was announced and will return Dec 12.

Any thoughts on what that means?

Would seem that it would difficult to fight for team if gone on vaca.

He is showing more compassion than one that can’t look you in the face. Extreme avoidance. Good to know he’s a human being.

The director doesn't know anymore than you do (I'm a Gr13 and know nothing). They probably just wanted to avoid all the uncertainly and chill out for a bit. Or find another job.

All of those side jobs getting in the way. Are they at least leading the qtrly AWARDS calls? Trophy for everyone. See you next qtr.

My director has only sent out 2 emails so far this year. He never responds to emails or chats or phone calls. Maybe the dude has 2 other side jobs outside of Cisco.
Only Elon can save Cisco.

Your director probably has another job and needs to attend their meetings

There's no fighting for the team! That director had to nominate LR candidates weeks ago. It's understandably hard to swallow for some people so maybe he decided to take a break to think about the immorality of it all.

Unfortunate in both cases. Great director. :(

It could be this director is also leaving. They often let execs know when they are being released. Also, being on PTO helps avoid uncomfortable questions from the team.
