If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be Urban Outfitters layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Reno URBN specifically Moya is remodeling the restrooms near the employees entrance, offices and lunch room. Currently they put two microwaves out to heat food and their fridges are down. In all honesty it’s as if the warehouse is going to close or be sold. Sort of like putting a house on the market you re-do the bathroom and kitchen. Also during this time some employees can review the company. Keyword SOME. I for some reason could not review I would open the link and the page would say unavailable. The HR guy didn’t really know why I was not able to review the company and I jokingly said “ they don’t want my review, in probably too problematic for them”. Sketchyyyyyy.

July 10 2024 URBN Reno NV. DC Layed off more than 50 employees(no WARN Act Notification) I reported it to dnmoteberg@detr.nv.gov (each state has a person to handle WARN Act)
asking for info as it is very unclear about the numbers. The response was rapid...I am blocked by the person who is appointed to handle it. Dirty company and dirty government to go with it.

What positions have been eliminated? So far I've heard

  • Regional Manager of the East
  • One District Manager
  • Many Assistant managers across the country/Canada
  • Many Keyholders across the country
  • Many Display Artists across the country

This company is a disorganized mess. The company-wide call from the new guy Brad was incredibly insulting, disingenuous, and callous. Fu-k that guy, I hope he doesn't last the year. I'm not alone in that sentiment either. Instead of laying off the people who generate revenue and make the stores unique, stop padding the paychecks for the redundant positions at the top and start giving the workers at home office and in the field the resources they need at the regional, district, and store levels. We don't need the faceless Billy or Brad.

yes literally just laid off tons of people with little to no severance, immediate termination of health care, no support. lots of people who relocated to philly for the job (plenty within the last year)…
