Unfortunately, I think that after the axe falls, those who put in the most effort and gave their best will be the most disappointed.
It's been clear to me for a long time that a lot of things here are fake and that the best off are those who do just enough to stay out of trouble.

This the year it hit home for me. I’ve given an awful lot of my time and care into proving myself, only to be shorted time and time again, from a monetary and recognition perspective. Been told how valuable my work and experience has been but no one has bothered to prove it. Sacrificing my mental and physical health didn’t do the trick either. They’ll replace me with a warm body but they lost so much more experience and skill than they’ll ever realize. I, however, am on to bigger and better things with less and less regret every passing day.

I already do. I see how much wasted time and effort I put into my work. And really for nothing. I got brainwashed. I am really in no better spot than I was 8 years ago. But I kept telling myself this year will be the year. Or completing this work/project will really help during reviews. And I was wrong but kept pressing on. I am ashamed and embarrassed with not really seeing it sooner. I think I did always see it but never acknowledged or acted on it. It’s time to leave GF one way or another
