Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Instead of typing a wall of bitterness here...

You could whine all day here and complain against the inevitable, or you could use that same amount of time, and reach out to your ex-coworkers that have found gainful employments elsewhere and more than happy to help you network for the yet-to-be-filled positions. I have already helped two current employees here with setting up their interviews and I know I am not the only one.

I had the same feeling of wasted efforts and disappointment as all of you- and I am more than happy to exacerbate Glofo's severe attrition problem by networking for you which hopefully resulting in gainful employments elsewhere.

But you have to reach out to your ex-colleagues. Linkedin is a great place to start.

Are you here against your will? If so, call for help and report that you are being held hostage. I am pretty sure that someone will come right over to help you. You could have left at any time in the past and are still free to leave at will right now. Actually, you should have left earlier because the job market is going to be tight for a while with all of the tech layoffs and global economic down turn. If you think that you need to wait for a layoff to get out of here than you will probably survive the layoff. Your the kind of brain de@d "talent".

I am thankful for this site, it is a never ending source of free entertainment.

I am sure it will make you feel better for a minute or two to commiserate here, and writing out your grievance at the GLINT that they totally going to read instead of printing it to wipe their a-s with.

But it’s just not productive at all- that time could be used to refresh your resume, reach out to your former colleagues, apply to every job you are qualified for (or unqualified for, who cares?) that will put you in a new place where you don’t have to whine on here anymore.

And you better start doing that before next week where a lot of people will have the same idea after being laid off.

You can do this, and you deserve better than Glofo.

I know how it feels when you are cheated by company that we trusted and worked hard to ensure we did everything we could.
Not sure what is solution but as employees we should start connecting ex colleagues to find opportunities as soon as market improves. I am sure employee survey will be really terrible but who cares.
