Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

I don't understand their logic

They got rid of some of the best employees who remained here and kept some of the greatest mediocrity who do almost nothing other than spread negative energy.
Do you understand the logic behind it?
Do those at the top even care about doing something good for this company or not?

Sorry to hear these stories - the team I am with managed to stay (mostly) together. The Middle management we have are very proactive - saw this coming and made the appropriate changes a long time ago.

Agree that some of the best talents have been shown the door, but there are still those amongst us trying to push our areas in the right direction and trying to shed the deadwood and the ones that are dragging us backward.

The uncertainty of what you wake up to every morning is unsettling and really affects the ability to plan for the future and give customers the right vibe.

That's because there is zero logic. The culture was so deeply toxic. Middle management was established as those who played along, even under the corrupt. They now will say and do anything to look good toward new leadership. And they fear losing their own jobs so they push out anyone who could or would be a threat.
Sadly, Avaya will have to rebuild from scratch as they allowed too much talent leave.

Perfect honesty. So true!
What remains is primarily those who don't rock the boat, yet never really contribute much beyond check boxes. Why? They are no threat to the very bad middle management that remains. Then of course, we have the ridiculous who are still round. And all they do is embarrass Avaya on social media and make us the laughing stock for the world to witness first hand.
