Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Manager is behaving strangely

Judging by the changes in our manager's behavior, this should be a sign that our team will be impacted. At least that's what I think but maybe it's not a reliable sign?

This time I would like to be the target. I'm one of those people who can't wait to get their severance pay, leave and never look back.

It’s possible your manager is included in the upcoming layoff, and he may know he will likely be let go. First line managers are juicy targets for layoffs. Especially if they have less than 10 direct reports.

If your manager is acting different towards you...that is a sign. avoidance is normal when they know bad news will be delivered...trust me. I am a manager and am doing the same thing...I am sad that I have to lay people off. I care so much for team.
