Everyone in the BU wants out of VMware and to be sold to a high-growth firm or something along those lines.
Vmware has completely staggered our development. We were once a top competitor in the space and now we are playing catch up.
How likely would it be for this to even happen?
Talk about romanticizing the past. CB was junk. It was a #2 product, but it was a two player game. CrowdStrike was so much better. I do regret VMware not purchasing them.
With that said, I think VMware has done a great job at turning that “#2” of a product into something that resembles an actually useful solution. There is some great talent on the team.
Hock is going to have to resort to Craigslist or FB marketplace if he wants to find a serious buyer for that BU.

Ha OK, that's why you were never brought up once in my time spent in the field. It was always cylance, crowdstrike, Trend or Symantec.
I still can't name a single integration that CB has done that has changed the tide of a deal.

Carbonblack's fate was sealed months ago. During Octane's tour in July he shared his financial plan. That plan included selling off CB and tanzu. It was clearly stated:
