I think they're referring to real people news sites, not internal ones. Of which none are reporting this. Could be because nobody cares, could be because the media has been asked not to report layoffs that can slip under the radar for some reason.
But you knew that really, you just wanted to criticize someone.
google news shows no results for what it's worth. Neither does CRN. How's that for "big news". Lots of news about the positive results though.

I searched on finance dot Cisco dot com and found this in approximately 20 seconds. Layoffs are big news. Surprised you didn’t say “lamestream media”.
