Does anyone believe the stuff Hock is putting out about not raising prices, caring about partners, etc?
I don’t! Seems like pandering to the regulators before approvals.
I’m curious if he also did this kind of cr-p before his other acquisitions?

Only those that kiss the ring of Fake Tan will remain.
see what happen at Twitter, same will come - communications team gone, diversity team gone, all high cost teams gone, dont deal directly with customers gone, all teams 30% down, some teams 70% down, some teams gone
So true!
Only nitpick is the file is named whales.xls
"he is meeting with customers and they will leave if the prices go up"
Wrong. The entire point of Octane picking the top 100 customers of whatever is precisely that they are so locked in they cannot leave, even if prices do go up. It's called increasing vendor lockup and as a vendor, you want your customers to be as locked in to you as possible.
Octane will (have his lackey) sort by Ascending on the Total Spend column on the Customers.xls file. The top 100 will be squeezed. The rest are not his target audience and can go do whatever they like.
But the top 100 or whatever, we gotcha by the ba--s, and we know it. They know it too, but will still pay it.
the stuff he is putting seems desperate. he is meeting with customers and they will leave if the prices go up. The competition is having a great time with this and customers have been looking for an exit pending price increase.
i don't even know how to respond to this post.... incredible naïveté....
I don't think Hock is writing anything. Some intern is writing it and a lawyer is signing off on it. Reality will come quickly after the deal is closed.
Regulators are going to ask him to write, "I will not raise prices" 100,000 times on the chalkboard before they approve the acquisition. He's writing the blog posts in hopes of reducing that number to 50,000 or less.
Octanes blog posts are part of this weird corporate fiction. Where someone lies, and everyone knows they are lying, but no one can say they are lying, then everyone has to act all surprised when it turns out they were lying.
Hock's blog posts are the equivalent to a tween on Tumblr
@jmk+1jJbTDDF 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you have me in tears
Have you considered that he's realized the incompetence and corruption contagion has metastasized the entire organization?
After massive layoffs, the only thing left will be contagions
If bad software continues to shoot out of pipeline, raising prices will hemorage customers, right?
He is a changed man.
He had a look at Raghu’s walk-in closet and now realizes the dream he is pitching as well as his wardrobe.
The playbook he has used all his life is of course thrown away. History will not repeat itself for the Nth time. A rumpled shirt from goodwill really does have that sort of life changing experience.
