Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I pray for severance

There is huge competition on the job market right now and it will certainly not be easy to find a new job, but I sincerely hope that I will be on the cut list, get a severance and forget about this place. Anyone else?

Despite everything, I'm optimistic that most of us will manage to find much better opportunities very soon. Good luck everyone!

sue them for what?

Age discrimination given that they will lay off mostly older workers w/ just a couple of token younger staff to offset the people who've been there 15+ yrs.

Who said severance is 6 months? Don't bet on that. No one is doing that for severance these days. Last time Cisco paid out 6 months severance was during Covid - a special circumstance.

I am looking for LR/ER as well, use the severance to recharge and prepare for interview.

Be careful what you wish for. The impending recession was just delayed until the elections were finished
