There is huge competition on the job market right now and it will certainly not be easy to find a new job, but I sincerely hope that I will be on the cut list, get a severance and forget about this place. Anyone else?

Age discrimination given that they will lay off mostly older workers w/ just a couple of token younger staff to offset the people who've been there 15+ yrs.

with the economy and recession good luck getting something else. They are being fairly charitable in the donations to the soon to be poor
Who said severance is 6 months? Don't bet on that. No one is doing that for severance these days. Last time Cisco paid out 6 months severance was during Covid - a special circumstance.
I am looking for LR/ER as well, use the severance to recharge and prepare for interview.
