Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Lack of skills at a new job

A colleague who left recently told me how, despite being happy because he left X, he is under a lot of pressure in the new company, considering that his skills have been significantly eroded here. Now he has to put in double efforts at his new job in order to overcome the lack of necessary skills.

I believe that most of those who have spent a lot of time here have the same problem when they get a new opportunity? I am trying to upgrade my skillset as much as possible before I leave.

but my familiy and relevants told me, sh-t- you never had so much work to do (20 h a week) during the last 20 Years :-)

If all you did was fix Docutech and Nuevera’s your whole career without any non xerox skills or certifications. You will most likely not find anywhere close to what you were making. A lot of techs in worked with had no desire to learn anything other than the machines they work on. Take some network courses and get a certification while your still working. It was the best thing I did.

At this point I’m years away from mother X but I keep coming back to this board to appreciate the smoothest brained posters to ever grace the internet’s forums. They’re all right here.

Alright settle down, boomer. No need for Qanon flashbacks. You'll be okay.

The #1 skill I learned representing Xerox was how to say I'm sorry.... over, and over, and over again. I'm a certified Black Belt in Apologies. Transferable skill?

The only skills Xerox will have left is how to pull equipment when competitors take over.

Obviously another troll post. Always written in the same style and in the diary type of format.

This “skills” subject is becoming comical. It’s simple: You’re either a d-mba$$ or not a d-mba$$. If you’re a d-mba$$ now, you’ll still be a d-mba$$ in the future.
