Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Waiting for shoe to drop

Taking stock of current layoffs so far:
LSS - 100+?
APAC - haven’t seen an estimate

What’s the next shoe to drop as cost cutting measures go up? Seen rumblings about LVS

If they indeed get rid of the regional reporting structure, then the layoff numbers will be massive. Imagine loads of PowerPoint reports, and multiply that by 4 regions. It should just move to Global reporting.

I was laid off a couple months ago. At that time, almost all divisions laid people off. Corporate was spared at that time ('tho CRL offered buyouts early in the year). Total then was a few hundred. EO/LSS lay offs are happening now.

I doubt its only between 5-7k. The level of traffic on this site now, compared last year’s, already says something

Under Roman's watch, anywhere from 5k to 7k jobs have been canned worldwide.

LSS was estimated at 300 people company wide. There were also packaging engineering and Integrated Business people laid off. Sourcing is going through restructuring too.

A3M is getting dismantled and no one knows that picture yet. Rumor is layoffs on the USAC Enterprise team as they need to fold both teams back to 1 team but maybe Business Group (global roles) people will be laid off to make room for the USAC people. It sounds like Dec 1st will be the big day for announcements. They are also seeing how many people retire or take the voluntary packages that expire in November.

Several thousand jobs have been cut. The problem is a bunch of GE hires have been brought in and people have been replaced with high price consultants.
