Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

I've been laid off two times before

Each time, I was shocked and devastated. And each time, I was able to find new opportunities quickly—in part because I was already focused on my job search.

I've had to learn the hard way that it's important to stay engaged with the world around you when you're not working. So if you're looking for a job right now, here are some tips for staying focused:

  1. Stay active on LinkedIn, even if no one is contacting you yet. It's easy to feel like no one cares about your career when you're unemployed, but there are always other people out there who are looking for great employees just like you!
  1. Keep up with industry news and trends by reading industry publications or following relevant Twitter accounts and Facebook pages. The more informed you are about what's going on in your field, the better prepared you'll be for an interview!
  1. Try volunteering at a local nonprofit organization, or attend events where people from different companies will be present—this will help keep your skills fresh while giving you an opportunity to network with potential employers.

100% agree
Great advice

Folks Globalfoundries is horrible place to work or try to form a career.

What makes it worse is they very actively pretend and try to portray that it is a great place while full on knowing the actual truth behind the scenes (lies, manipulation called it whatever - it’s borderline evil)

But continuing on OPs thought - think of yourself as your corporation or company. You should be out for yourself - to increase your own profits and EBIDTA! (Hahaha) Get what is best for you.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES management/leadership is very actively abusing us all and now it is becoming way more visible to the general employee. They are having a hard time covering it up, hiding it or even just keeping their stories straight when addressing us. They can’t keep up with their own lies.

So yes start preparations to leave. Look into Intel or micron or wolfspeed or onsemi. What’s the worse that could happen? You get a way better offer??
