Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Just joined GF this year and it is terrible

I had no option but to join GF as being on H1B, I did not have much option and timeline was against me. I can tell that management is terrible , incompetent, biased , non transparent. AME in particular is in deep sh-t as it is in hands of wrong person who is more interested in her gossips and politics to secure her job. It is such a terrible place . I feel bad for my colleagues who are on H1B and can not leave soon.

not surprising that people feel this way, and there's probably some truth to H1Bs being preferred hires for the reasons mentioned

H1Bs should treat their employment like a contract. Think about what they get from it and is it really worth it -- pay, contingent residency etc. Then weigh that against alternatives and choose your path accordingly.

Agree that H1B visa are recruited as they are not able to leave due to restrictions. I am planning to leave GF as soon as there is opportunity and will leave strong message to my manager in exit interview. My manager told someone that he recruited H1B as they will not leave due to bad working conditions.

I don't think the original poster is a person on H1B. The original poster seems to be jealous of the H1B employee(s) since they are doing a better job then the original poster. If you want to complain about the company and management, at least have the ba--s to write on this site without prejudice on the work visa employees.
