Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Short term savings long term cost. Finally back to proper staff since 3 years of rebuilding since the Pivot. Now this.

I was just telling my managers that we finally had reached the level of quality in the team that we literally had worked to recreate since the Pivot. I work with the labs and we were gutted. Now if we lose people again I will not be around to rebuild a 2nd time.

Short term savings long term cost.

Heard employees age 50 year and above are going to be key layoff targets and will be primary target throughout this year and next as they are equivalent to two new of less experienced employees. Idea is to create their back up and replace them with young and low cost employees. What the heck going on ?

I for one am willing to sacrifice my livelihood for the benefit of the directors and above shareholders.
