Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Huge expectations

It is simply unbelievable what some managers here expect one person to do. Did you work somewhere else where the expectations were even higher than here?

It's impossible to get used to this! The only question is how long someone can withstand this much pressure and stress before they leave.

Walmart is in their woke quest for a breed of associates that will accelerate its decline. An older established merchandising associate is a threat to the new present walmart disconnected, eyes closed , buying back stock corporate culture.

Get out. Walmart is getting worse not better. I quit last year after almost 10 years. Best decision I ever made. Lots of places are hiring. Get out of hellmart.

I’ve worked for Walmart 28 years and I have never seen anything like this. Stores are run awful. Management holds no one accountable. It’s a free for all, come in when you want, wander around and don’t work. Don’t follow rules, don’t wear dress code, come in late, leave early, team leads don’t work their schedules, most work 5am to 2 pm and don’t work evening shifts. Attendance isn’t a thing. Same people keep calling in and don’t get held accountable for calling in. Managers have their favorites. Stores are filthy including bathrooms. Shelves not stocked. Associates are literally overworked. No one hires. Wages suck. Corporate should come in and ask associates what goes on.
When will this madness end?

It's harder if you was around before the restructure two years ago because of you had decent DMs it was efficient and processes could be completed properly.

Kroger in Nashville was far worse - depends on store/managers/location.

I totally agree. It’s because we are all so understaffed and managers at my store don’t care about associates and work us to death. No appreciation for anything. Never a heartfelt thank you. No appreciation for anything we do, just push more work on us. No one hires people either. Pathetic isn’t it? Corporate never comes around and when you open door something you are called in the office and told by the manager “don’t you ever do that again”.
I call that RETALIATION!!
Leave now and don't be a lifer. Trust me you’ll regret it!!
There are better jobs out there. Go find one that makes you happy. Life is too short. I would leave but I’m ready to retire very soon.
You will be much happier in the long run!,
