Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Pay Raise Smoke and Mirrors

Another false show for the news media to portray Marv as a great benevolent corporate leader. I got called into the office to tell me I wasn’t getting a raise because I was being paid more than the market average for my position. I am not kidding. Not only did I receive nothing, they rubbed my face in it.
God Bless…

The way the economy is Lowes doesn’t want to pay a livable wage, they can’t hire work ready people off the streets who will stay.

This raise was about tenured, seasoned, under paid, older employee’s who are unmotivated to move into the job market. Lowes has a of a workforce, filled with baby boomers who will be retiring in poverty. As workers they are comfortable and Lowes takes advantage of their complacency.

The dog feeds where it can, and it’s food supply is drying up. Lowes days are numbered.

Team,
Each day, the executive leadership team and I are committed to making Lowe's a
great place for you to work. Through our ongoing BEST associate surveys, we seek
and value your input and feedback as part of our focus on having a positive working
environment. At its core, that means providing each of you with a good, stable job, a
comprehensive benefits package, bonus opportunities and competitive wages.
After months of review by the executive leadership team, I'm pleased to share that
Lowe's is investing an additional $172 million into the wages of our hourly
store and Merchandising Service Team (MST) associates, effective Dec. 10,
1 2022. To be clear: This is not a one-time payment or bonus, but an increase in the
base rate of pay and earnings potential for many of our frontline store associates.
Lowe's continues to be committed to our store associates. That's why since 2018,
we've invested more than $2 billion in incremental wage and share based
compensation programs for frontline associates. Today's wage announcement is only
a continuation of that commitment to you and your earning potential at Lowe's. In the
coming weeks, store and MST associates will have individual conversations with store
and merchandising leadership to learn more about these pay rate changes.
This investment is a demonstration of our dedication to serve those who serve our
customers. The executive leadership team and I are grateful for what you do for
Lowe's each and every day.
God bless,

I agree. I was told only a few dozen employees are eligible for a " cost of living" increase total bullcr-p. I actually responded to the email and asked why they sent it to every employee in the company if not everyone is entitled to it. As usual no response from the big wigs.

Time to start laying the groundwork to unionize. I see no other way for us to get a real cost of living adjustment and take away the free reign corporate has to te--orize us in the stores.

It’s my understanding the raise is a cost of living increase and has nothing to do with pay rate. I would contact corporate and see if what they’re telling you is true.

Manager use that excuse when I know for a fact they will recruit their friends, roommates, girlfriends etc into the store at higher rate of pay than the avg CSA who's been there for years. It IS who you know AND who you blow at Blowes.

"Market average"? That's lowes-speak for WE ARE LYING TO YOU ANF WE DONT WANT TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING.
Leave this Mickey mouse operation now. Lowes..the job that demands so much but gives so little.

I'm not getting the raise either. I have decided that all of extra that I contribute to this company to bring in repeat business is going to end. I will clock in, do the bare minimum, clock out and go home. Don't contribute anything, If you are PE certified don't get re-certified, don't do anything that isn't your actual job and put as little effort as possible into that as well. Collect a check and go home, the executives obviously hate us, so sc--w them.

A department supervisor said that only certain FULL time associates are getting it. There are many disappointed people in my store right now because they are part time and not getting anything.

Want to see something frightening? Look into HR Analytics. Now HR teams are using AI and analytics to sniff the market for skills, pay, and demand. They then adjust pay and staffing levels accordingly, probably not to your benefit.
