Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Benefits keep getting worse…

Anyone else noticed how benefits are getting worse each passing year? This is ridiculous. Cost keeps going up though. I remember when company contribution used to be $2000 for a family HSA and now it is $1000 only if you self contribute first.

You used to be able to sell back vacations days if you were here then. Those who sold were trying to offset the insurance increases

Due to the uncertainty of future of the two separate NCR companies, there will be no 2023 raises. NCR knows that only a handful of employees will leave and find employment else where, the overwhelming majority of employees will be mad but keep on working, just like they did in 2020.

Why was the benefit of purchasing extra vacation days cancelled? Doesn't cost the company anything

Just remember when you're paying your deductibles or copays that the exec staff are on a different plan and pay nothing. Great company that really cares about their employees.

Back in 2000 when benefits people went around talking about big changes they used the term wellness insurance. Basically you pay zero out of pocket for yearly dental exam and a physical. Every thing else is shared cost. They assume everyone in same bucket. If you don’t take care of yourself why should they pay for it. When question time came some said they were being penalized for wear glasses. Another said they had diabetes since birth. Why are we being punished. That’s when they got together and start putting them programs for certain life issue and if you were not joining them they assume you didn’t care.

It’s all bullying and bull sh-t.
Then they got rid of pensions that same year to all new employees

Yeah, noticed that. That's just another $600 I'll have to personally put in, but hey...if we're lucky maybe it'll be offset by a $300 bonus in March. Even with the "best raise they could manage" last year, still making less than I was the previous year because it's "not a cost of living adjustment, it's a merit adjustment"
