Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Is it just me or did I hear it correctly

On the last analyst call I picked up on a comment by Clay that a regime change is eminent. It was during the Q and A. Been weird vibes in office. No layoff vibes thank goodness. But leadership has failed for o er a decade. Look at our stock price. Look at our peers stock price. Just saying.

Nobody cares because they have been for sale for 18 months. Nods, smiles, back slaps, and FU, see you later!

I don’t think but maybe I think we’ll I don’t know if you heard it correctly. We are in limbo up here at Southwest energy. Just walked down to the lobby and took a huge dump next to the market while perusing layoff dot com. But don’t think our leadership has changed yet cause the paint was peeling from one fearless leader. WJW. Didn’t think he used the lobby, but boy was I wrong.

It is not surprising that many more people are dedicated to looking for a new job, rather than actually investing effort in their job here.
Honestly, how much effort do you put in to get the work done? I'd assume that most of us do only the bare minimum.

First, we don’t have leaders that is obvious but we have managers. You don’t get to the top in Corp America by being the smartest person (see current leadership) in the room or the most capable (again see current leadership), you get there through connections and privilege. Think of it like a monarchy. Running the business and having great ideas isn’t high on that list. Social skills and being in favor with the upper echelons is what matters. Make no mistake, they view you as a peasant and don’t care what any of us think. You could put a potato in the C spots at most companies and do better. As George Carlin said, it’s a big club and you ain’t in it. All the boards are made up of the same folks, the ceo from this company and that, then that ceo is on your board. Of course they are going to rubber stamp whatever. It’s a highly incestuous relationship. Once you understand that, just ignore the folks at the top and you’ll do much better. Current leadership are id--ts, just privileged id--ts. Unfortunately they have the ability to ruin lives.
