I was in Aldi's and they were storming the shelves with electronic lables. I did mention to them that that will take their job because they aren't needed. Expect Walmart to follow. I guess not lead. First they reduce cashiers, next my guess team leads, and coaches. One of these days to show wmt sees the light they will be eliminating coaches and TL's. All layoffs and store closings begin at the corp level. The momentum is something wmt can't stop. Wmt is not even on a level playing field. Its sloping to its deserved direction.

Layoffs have started the store manager has just fired about 40 people this month at my store, probably has something to do with the pay hike and the economy
Just remember this thread 3 years from 2023 when you walk into a Walmart or other retailers and you see a higher number of self check outs.
Can someone kindly explain to me in clear terms... Sure can. You hang out here in an irresponsible manner. You don't contribute here except to glorify yourself. You claim to be a business super wonder but when challenged you defensively go into your first grade I don't understand or your sentence structure is understandable. You obviously have no imagination for writing. The only thing you contribute to Walmart layoffs is yourself. If you don't work for Walmart why are you here? Go to Bed Bath and Beyond please you'll be a bigger man there. Don't ask anyone to explain anything to you just move on. Oh forgot , Reddit has Walmart people all over it. That's your third example. There are good Walmart family people who are headed for the grinder. The writing is on the wall and your irrelevant self grandiose helps no one here. Haunt BB&B you'll be your own super hero there.
Can someone kindly explain to me in clear terms….. what is the intent of the post previous to this one?
The disorganized thinking and obvious cranial-rectal inversion aside, that person’s post is absolutely juvenile.
I'm certain the right side of your brain doesn't know what the left side of your brain is doing. Walmart at one time had its own meat cutters that wanted to unionize. Well did they? I hope this doesn't shake your confidence in your vast knowledge of bs. Just for another example that displays your depth of bs. There were stores that were going to unionize that Walmart closed down. Are you beginning to see now ? You are impaired on many psychological levels. OK now deflect my response : copy and paste : First grade grammar is better than this post. Truely an educational and inspirational answer. I believe you being nursed until you were 8 is nothing to be secretly proud of. Do you have any capabilities that you can use to prove anything wrong? All you have is first grade this, and I know business . .... Make sure you grab your ankles to receive your brain implants you have to be different.
For the second time I do not work for Walmart. You are not even able to articulate your point of view in any post on this topic other than writing nonsense.
I'm so excited for you. Walmart has shown people like you respond to their commands. Ex: covid jabs. What a wonderful work environment it will be when you get your brain implant. You and your family and your corporate Walmart family . After you volunteer to be one of the first , everyone after you will be able to relate to you on a much higher plane. Can you mention the books or magazine articles you have written expressing your profound knowledge of business. Please don't be modest. It seems coming from you that walmart's only hope is you. Your brain implants could be easily inserted into your brain at a wellcare center. Don't let an opportunity like that pass you by. Rome burns , brave new world within sight.
First grade grammar is better than this post. Does this poster truly believe that Walmart corporate (or any organization) monitors the thousands of websites out there? Why would they? Tell us wise one what team does this? Where is the payroll expense number? What are their titles? Are they position postings for these jobs are companies?
Here is the example of why automation will continue.
Walmart corporate, you have a trail of posts the shows you as a liar. But thats why your in the decaying corporate culture because its a natural fit. You have issues on different levels no doubt due to inbreeding. You dont have an office at corporate you have a pedestal to stand one. They seriously have to increase your medication. No idea why the moderators let you dominate this web site walmart trolls. Santa Clause is coming to town, leave with him . I do feel sorry for you, self absorbed personality defective A@@.
Walmart will obviously continue with any and all types of automation and AI at the stores. Maybe not all, but many store associates are literally at the bottom of the evolution scale, and quite honestly, the stores would run better and smoother without them. It’s sad, but true.
The distribution centers are dynamic and complicated places. We need smart and flexible people there, and we have that.
Corporate (meaning Bentonville) is laced with the absolute worst management ever seen in the business world. I’ve seen horrible decisions made and everyone just nods their heads like little dogs sitting at the feet of their masters.
After years in Bentonville & Rogers, I’ll say this: I have never seen complete stupidity at a company like I’ve seen there. As a stockholder, I’m angry and unfortunately, it’s embarrassing.

Sorry BUD..... lol. I do not work for Walmart. Most often people type (communicate) the same way they speak. So the next time you are not offered a position with any company remember that BUD.
Towards automation. nothing better to do at the office than come up with brave new world stuff. Walmart should replace its entire corporate staff with AI. No still out to lunch there. Actually an AI that can flip a coin would destroy present walmart corporate culture. Imagine having decisions right 50% of the time. I do suppose where your coming from might work with universal income comrade associate.
First grade. Hi bud, you and your team from corporate have come up with your typical reply. I have read statements from the most heads in the clouds, self disillusioned , present walmart corporate culture and your right about keeping it on a first grade level for you and your corporate team. Bud stay away from the small crayons , thats the next corporate level up. Stick with the big crayons. I think between us Bud if you stop eating the glue you'll be on the third grade level. That is team lead at walmart corporate. Just thinking if they did random dr-g tests at walmart corporate they'd stay in business longer but you'd be gone.
All retail environment's in the last 10 years have been moving towards automation. Self check out and so on. Why? Because a self check out terminal for example does not; complain, call in, steal, play on a phone all day, quit, not show up at all, it's a one time cost up front, no medical, no drama, does not develop a negative attitude at the drop of a hat, no turn over rate and the list never ends. Walmart has over 2 million employee's and think of the speed and accuracy with more self check outs. Not to mention the payroll savings and the turn over rate.
If you haven't seen this trend you are not paying attention. You do have it right in that customers are wanting less human contact. In and out is what they are looking for. When was the last time you signed a charge purchase for a sale under say $50.00? You don't need to anymore. You signing that slip is less than 3 seconds, less than 3 seconds measly seconds. Yet customers didn't see a need to do it and now you don't need to. Something small perhaps not thought of much except in a larger scale. Not too time consuming but it happened. But 3 seconds over hundreds of thousands of transactions. Well that can add up.
Look at Buy on Line, or Pick Up in Store. All fulfillment has gone through the roof in the last 5 years alone. We are a click and get it society. The cashier positions will be a faded out in the next few years. Even McDonald's has less folks than they did 5 years ago.
Certainly: robots need electronic markers so they can read where to drop The pallets!!
WalMart is all about work you beyond your limits:((
Robots : self checkout: scan n go, all to reduce the human contact! Now go robots in home office!! I have tried open door to absolutely be ignored after I was told there was an update!! A robot would have given a robo answer !! Customers will wait in line as long as it is moving!!! Not 20 cash registers and two open:((
Happy Thanksgiving!
Try again with 1st grade grammar so I can understand what it is you are attempting to say.
Customers want fast and easy ? Thats why they have self checkouts ? I think you must be present walmart not thinking things through corporate culture. I think you have the matter solved when AI can stock the shelves. Of course then AI can buy the items too. A win win big win.
Have your ever researched the turn over rate for the positions you have mentioned? Customers want fast and easy. Organizations will reduce payroll and turn rate. Both very costly. It's a win for any company.
