As in using some type of productivity monitoring software?
Tracking the websites we visit, apps we are using, etc?

If they think you are organizing a union or selling source code to the competition, then they might listen, but otherwise it's way too much work.

Yes.. they can listen and yes they do
We are not spying on you. Trust me!
Love,
Raghu
Probably for a range of reasons but here’s an obvious one..

What they can do is monitor what apps and docs you open and how long you have them open and what websites you visit and how long you visit them. Intelligent Hub can do this with automated processes and then generate reports that someone might view, especially if you exceed metrics. They are not listening over your mic or watching over your camera. However if you are not working they can figurure this out as you wouldn't have tools open and wouldn't be generating activity. As far as doing personal work, if your work has value, they might find it out and claim it. For example if you write a computer program using your work computer and do it on work time they could claim ownership.
i always wear a tinfoil hat when working, just take it off for zoom calls, that way they cannot get me, no way, it blocks all the signals, try it!
As long at it is SFW po-n, you should have no problem.
I've been watching po-n on my breaks for the last 5 years. Guess I'm going to go first, but funny they haven't canned me yet
Agree in principle, which is why I NEVER do personal business or browsing on my company laptop regardless of how innocuous. But.. Close my laptop when having personal conversations? There's no way the company is clandestinely recording my personal conversations taking place in my own home (I've been remote since I was hired 11 years ago) using my laptop microphone. I can't even imagine that's Legal. Show just one tiny piece of evidence to back up that claim - anything at all. I call complete bullsh-t on that, it's just a bridge too far. But if you have it, produce it, rather than just getting a bunch of gullibles all spun up on this board. God forbid I'm wrong, but please back up the claim.
I’m still wondering why would they do that..
VMware HR is monitoring your use of inclusive language. Be sure and put your pronouns in your email signature and your Zoom profile.
I hope so!
Yes you are being watched. Read up on Workspace One, Intelligent Hub, formerly Airwatch. This software was updated on all devices the other day, resulting in the devices from over 7000 employees getting locked out for being out of compliance. It is a Universal Endpoint Management software. It spys on you and pushes updates and agents onto your devices.
Then there’s the ongoing assessment of employee productivity ahead of the acquisition. Workers are objects and things. It is business after all.
The hidden processes/daemons and remote viewing agents are most concerning. You simply won’t see them unless your “hunt” chops are savvy.
The surveillance feedback is similar to the weekly summary you get on iPhone device usage.
Logging into personal accounts on your work machine, only caches your credentials disown to your work machine.
DLP appears necessary like antivirus but the use cases are obvious.
If you’re using Office on your personal laptop and activated it with work credentials then you’re giving up privacy.
Assume multiple viewers in apps like Teams, Zoom and Outlook.
Segment your work resources from personal ones but don’t underestimate the reach any company will deploy to control and surveil its employees.
Companies who do this don’t trust employees or don’t know how to inspire them enough to make strategies like this unnecessary. Same outcomes you get when dealing with micro managers.
Lots of people here say there is no tracking. There is. I too wish I could say more. Watch out on zooms. Teams. Close your laptop when having confidential meetings. Not being paranoid but you need to know.
We are children. Infants even. Cloud, virtualization and childcare.
No doubt about it. Wish I could share more. Here’s a tip. Close your laptop when you’re having personal conversations. The stuff VMware is doing is outright ridiculous.
Yes, this has increased. Have you noticed the forced software updates? 😊
MS Outlook virtual assistant is here to help you.
Absolutely yes, everything on you do is monitored.
Yes.
I mean, I’m not sure what you mean…
Yes.
