From what I've seen, things are not looking that bad, at least when it comes to estimates. Whether we'll meet those estimates is questionable, but I guess we need to wait and see. The only reason why I am interested in this is layoffs. Usually, when the results don't meet expectations, we're the ones who pay the price. Otherwise, I wouldn't care.

@2qrl+1j9ECxi5 when I first started many years ago, the first thing I thought was how much of a waste it was to employ chip fluffers. Grocery stockers are already paid to stock many other items in the stores. I used to be an overnight stocker. Don't think their job is safe. Indra did an interview years ago stating she wanted to outsource sales management. Nobody is safe. Robotic forklifts, auto pickers, outsourced cleaning crew. Pick a job that makes you happy and be flexible if you need to change in the future.
Hopefully the company will continue to keep the momentum going and continue to offshore functions that are located in high cost areas like Chicago, Plano and New York. All the expensive desk jobs that can be done remotely from home can easily be done from the other side of the planet at a quarter of the cost. All the decisions made and tasks completed in Plano, Chicago, New York can easily be done from the other side of the world with a few keystrokes and clicks of the mouse.
It's been posted here on and off for the last 10 years. If you want to be secure work in the field doing a job that isn't remote. Those are going to be the untouchables.
They will keep chipping away at work from home/sector roles as if you're not making, selling or delivering Pepsi can have the job at GBS.
If you read this and think F YOU. This business started in a time where all we needed to win was route salespeople. The company got fat and bloated. As they've trimmed the fat they've realized we can grow faster with field employees only. IT support/admin worn = GBS.
Good news is good people willing to work hard will always have a place.
Wow, look as those earnings! Shares are priority one. You should be thankful you have the opportunity to sacrifice yourself on the tracks of PepsiCo prosperity. Putting American workers on the street is a sign of commitment to the shareholders. Make sure your choosing PepsiCo products on your next trip to the store in support of all those workers in other countries who are trying to ship donations back for America's homeless.
And? They could profit 50% of gross revenues and Ramon and his merry band of accomplices will always find a way to spin the need to cut costs. Inflation 8%, families being crushed financially? “Not our problem…”. Job will still be sent to GBS if possible no matter what the damage. A fine example of how ruthless this organization has become. There is no long term future in the United States for almost all the rank and file. Get out if you can and as soon as you can. Your physical, mental and emotional health are far more valuable. The world will survive - probably healthier - with less junk food.
Folks ! Bottom line is if a recession, depression, inflation or global situation people always have to eat. When times are tough people eat snacks instead of a meal. That is why they always have a good quarter and earnings Go Pepsico !!!!
Pepsi always meets expectations regardless of a recession or depression. I got layoff when they exceeded earnings ! Just find it very weird that this company lays off every year regardless of financial standing.
