Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

That is unsustainable

Replacing people of great expertise with people who are very little or not at all qualified to do their job is sustainable until the company reaches the rock bottom.
It's hard to expect that someone talented would want to be hired here, but that's all the more reason why Allstate should pay more attention to remaining capable and good employees. Are you shocked when you see who is replacing your colleagues?

Ditto on Maryland claims…not too sure what the deal was….nothing from leadership! I am unclear on all the layoffs yet mass hirings??? It seemed as they always these virtual job fairs going on but at the same time didn’t want to pay market value……..I left for a competitor a year ago for a lot more money and never even received a conversation or exit interview. It’s…a strange way to conduct business.

I worked for the east coast and Maryland office in claims once we went virtual. Talk about dysfunction. There was little to no direction from leadership. The manager had no idea what was going on and didn’t appear to care. It was shocking that someone would be leading an office without having much of a background in handling employee issues or having any relevant claims knowledge. We just paid claims for the sake of getting them off of our desk. I was luckily able to find other employment but it’s pretty unbelievable that claims is operating in such an indifferent, illogical, and dangerous manner.

I left awhile ago because it was quite alarming what was going on! Nobody in claims had any idea what to do. There was zero percent recognition that change was needed. Instead, claims let people flounder, drown, and ultimately quit. The company quit quite awhile ago on its employees. And current employees know this. And now employees are returning the favor. Deal with it!

Experienced qualified people leave, replaced by unqualified junior staff from other areas of the business. Did I mention there’s little to no training? Ignore that iceberg boy.

The implosion continues. From the claims side it is blatantly clear how much our lack of talent and blind leadership is costing. Even more shocking is that home office believes our vendor program works.
Quality of staff is abhorrent and somehow the vendors are getting worse. But hey, maybe if you ignore it it will work itself out!
Good luck w that

You get what you pay for. Especially when you go woke eventually you go broke. I'm all for giving everyone an opportunity but leave the culture wars bs at home. All I care about is can you do the job and do it well.

They pay absolutely zero attention to employee retention of high performers. Zero. No bonus structure for most of the company. Talent flocking in droves. Definitely not a sustainable model especially with much of their highly experienced retiring soon.
