Getting into an Ivy League college has nothing to do with intelligence. It has everything to do with being part of a connected family.

Are you upset because they make more than you? Or because they are selling more than you? Or because you spent more on education than you earn per year? Or because they didnt offer you a job in spite of having a degree? Or because sales managers have swagger and that annoys you? Or do you have a valid reason for not liking sales managers with or without a degree? I am not a sales manager by the way.

I got in Mensa, as if that mattered to most. I had a nasty childhood and college was something I could only dream about. And yet, because I have enough brains to learn and enough heart to care about others, I now have a job I'd only imagine could be had by college graduates until they offered it to me. I make a 120K Canadian, and for me that enough to feed the kids and even have a summer vacation next summer. Don't pi-s on people who don't have a degree. Sure, statistically ivy colleges are a sign of high IQ, and yet what matters most beside getting the job done is how people feel when they deal with you and none of that can be attributed to a degree...

Any warm body can get a degree, true. But if you’re scraping the barrel for jobs and insisting that you’re actually like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates while clawing for any job that isn’t selling printers to the real world version of Dunder Mifflin, you’ve still lost the plot.

So many people at xerox (and in this industry) deficient in soft skills, emotional IQ and basic collaborative traits. Instead of working on these fundamentals they staple an MBA to their forehead in order to get promoted. Their skills gaps are even further illustrated in more demanding higher roles and they make even more peoples lives terrible because they’re a horror to work with. This of course trickles down and contributes to toxicity. Was a time when the cream rises to the top at xrx… now it’s the reverse.

I made it to director level without one. Narrow minded to think a degree is an across the board requirement. When I interview a job candidate with 10 + years and they think their degree is still an accomplishment, I pass.

Sometimes DNA, life experience, luck and timing are the most important means to determine success in life.

Unless Your goal is to ba an Engineer or Dr. College degrees are a joke.
Book smart and d-mb as a bag of rocks.
An intelligent Person and on the job training can be molded to be most productive.
