Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Does any one else too feel that bcom culture has started taking over ?

All people working around me and with me are now working late evenings, nights. Sending emails with directors copied.
I know they are nice people but when pressure to complete work comes onto them they send email to the unblock them.
All this makes me under pressure and in turn I start sending emails to others even late.

I can get the feeling of ugly bcom culture already.

Anyone else feeling the same ?

VMware has always been a deeply corrupt company. If you have not already been CCing anyone who needs to be CCd to protect you a$$ you have stunted your VMware career.

No one has told me to work in an office yet, so from that perspective "no".

But, I would say it's amazing how many decisions Hock is influencing when he's not in charge of the company yet. Also, I thought attrition was high and couldn't get any worse before the acquisition was announced. Hock has shown me, that he could make attrition much much worse, without even lifting a finger.

Yes, I’ve started evaluating m my peers based on their contribution to the bottom line vs. the content of their characters.

engineers already started lying and trapping each other. It is all toxic. Directors and managers are lost

They just think that when they add directors to emails that they remember their name when it comes to layoffs. Same bullsh-t when on chat during all staffs - people are over eager to make people aware of themselves.

The pressure is from yourself. Have boundaries, people will respect you more.

Nothing to do with BC takeover, it's always been like that - you're just sensitive to it now.

There's an option to schedule and send nag email during the person's working hours. You can also add your work hours and create an auto response to every message received outside of those hours.

And for goodness sake Slack and Teams have mute options.
