Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Save your health

It's sad how many people neglect their health here. When accumulated stress starts affecting mental and physical health, it is often too late. Don't let that happen to you.

Is it even possible to avoid the enormous everyday stress here? Not really.

Never stop looking for other opportunities.

Stress was the initial post so I'm responding to that here.

In my Claims workgroup there are no fewer than 4 people trying to get into a different department and out of Claims, and who one cries at work regularly, one that is going on health leave due to stress, my fricken hair is falling out and despite taking 8, 10, 15 hours of overtime weekly, typical inventory is over 370 claims.

Managers continue to measure performance under massive inventory the same way they would if inventory we're ACTUALLY manageable. There's a movement afoot for people to stop picking up extra hours and just let the trainwreck happen.
How is it SF celebrates their record breaking 2 million new auto policies and doesn't hire? Agents are calling in directly to try to push their insureds claims though by jumping the line.
"Wat and see it's goin to get better". Apparently it will not get better, new hires are mislabeling mail and caught Demand freakouts. ok well rambling now....

Listen to your body and if suffering from physical or emotional pain do some digging and find out if it can be related to the job.

Their gravy train of abuse will someday come to a screeching halt when they will have to sleep with a defensive tool under their pillow. They can only abuse so much before they become a target.

SF is the Hallerburton of Insurance companies. Look at what Hallerburton did during the Iraq war. SF is no different with their employees. They use you, abuse you then toss you. All for greed.

OK everyone in operations. Ask your leadership what they are making, what their pay range is, how much they make on MIP and how many hours they actually work a week and compare it to what you do when you could do the exact same thing they lead you to believe you can't. That will lead you to the truth and how much power they assert over you.
