For those of us that just had to move from Fairfax, the whole campus thing is a joke. How is Rex’s vision working out now. Dying like the tree.
Two buildings to be leased out and remaining buildings will go to a WE3 model.
Would EM empty buildings just to mothball them?
If mothballing, some ignorance is prevalent because successful mothballing and revamp at re-occupation time typically costs more than continuing to occupy.
Would EM rent out buildings on Campus to keep them occupied?
But aren't the local tax write-offs (and refunds) in Spring connected with the number of Filled Seats? Does it matter who fills those seats? I'm like 3/5 of a seat at least when it comes to those write-offs.
We need better accountants, sounds like. Arthur Anderson sox.
Aquifer running dry in Annandale, Texas bound and lots of outsourcing, see ya in Baytown….
REIT to purchase Clinton site and rent 1/4 of building to EMTEC? This monetizes the property and avoids costly move. Do you think they can execute this?
Mothball two quads or lease them out to other companies?
Campus could consolidate significantly without subjecting employees to the torture of WE3.
WE3 implementation is just the Dallas Execs trying to squeeze employees to maximize attrition.

The EMHC buildings are half empty. I can walk down the hall right now and see empty desk after empty desk. It is depressing in some ways. Part of this is due to layoffs, part due to employees who don’t care what the boss thinks and are working from home. In any case it doesn’t take a genius to see the current situation can’t go on like this. We3/activity based working/whatever they choose to call high density seating ……is a certainty
In the 2010's I would occasionally visit our other offices like Leatherhead, Benelux, and Breda and I was always shocked at how dark and empty they were. Like they were built for 1000 employees but only 500 showed up. And it wasn't just one office like this, pretty much every overseas office felt like this.
I'm not surprised no one at XOM learned this lesson when it came to EMHC (the campus project execs had to get their promotions and RSUs of course), but I am surprised that we got here so fast. The campus cost >$billion and hasn't even been open 10 years...and it's already half deserted?
PB wing in Annandale will be all contractors soon, even supervisor roles… RE have a plan
Heard the same. Shut or lease out two quads, and whole site goes to hot desking, soon. Only VP+ has reserved office.
Annandale and what's the other quad?
What is this please?
Sounds like they want to mothball two quads
It should be out very soon
