Can I quit and apply to get the bonus?
They still haven't fully paid people who hired on in 2018 their bonus
"If you reside less than 300 miles from the hiring location, you are eligible for $20,000. You will receive $4,000 increments at 10 days, 90 days, 180 days, 270 days, and 365 days after your start date.
If you reside greater than 300 miles from the hiring location, you are eligible for $25,000. You will receive $9,000 in your first 10 days and $4,000 increments at 90 days, 180 days, 270 days, and 365 days after your start date."
Now that's a legitimate service recognition bonus. We slept in our cars chasing basic days in the yard praying not to get bumped.
Glad the company is recognizing the sacrifice but a $1K a year service recognition bonus for us veterans put a smile on my face.

I haven't read the conditions of it yet, but is there strings attached to it? The last time they had a bonus like that, the new hires had to be working for 2 years before they got the whole bonus. Also back then the bonus was split up over those two years of employment.
Service recognition bonus of $1000 a year and the Unions signed off on it.

Another slap in the face to existing employees. Sweet place to work I’ll tell all the people I don’t like to apply.
I don’t work for UPRR but another class 1 and they’re paying 20k for people to not retire .
Should go over well with the existing over worked employees that remain . What could go wrong ?
And yet existing employees are offered a 1000 a year LOL
