Courts sides with UPRR , they don't have to honor the contract with city of Palestine, TX.,
and Anderson county.
It's a 149 year old contract to keep a certain number of rr employees working there .
UP tried to move out during PSR budget cuts.
Locals are going to appeal to supreme court.

City of Palestine filed a writ of certiorari and it was denied by the Supreme Court Friday, January 6th 2023.

I think the big difference this time is the ICCTA, and that will make a difference going to Supreme Court. We shall see.

This is old news. Plus, the issue has already went to the Supreme Court twice. And the second time, they told UP not to bring it up to them again; the contract is rock-solid. Now we will see what happens. If they won't hear the case then UP can close the shop. If they hear it, then they go against their previous rulings. Grab the popcorn.

Would the courts rule in favor of railroad workers when it comes to a 96 year old law that stops them from going on strike no matter how bad they are treated?
