Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Couldn't be more overworked

My mistake is that I was not a little more attentive to the market and left here much earlier. I'm just drained now.

What frustrates me more than the triple workload I have to do in a short time is that the boss gives himself the right to say that it is not a lot of work for one person!

But it would be strange if the bosses here actually cared and employees weren't on the verge of burnout, wouldn't it?

Injury CS here with a current inventory of 377 claims, 8 of which are untouched when I signed off on Friday. I refuse to work OT for a while... Let the trainwreck happen.... My devotion to my inventory has nonpayoff. Work hard? Work harder... And yes, it's "my fault" I have 8 - 10 new claims daily and annoyed AO and CA calling daily. Have about 72 old voicemails and getting criticized for that. I am ONE PERSON no amount of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is going to make this work. 😑

@1llz while I can’t speak for injury TL have had independents working for over a year and are still severely understaffed and have just gone back to mandatory overtime.

Back in the early 2000s were used to pay independence to come in and work large injury caseloads I’m surprised someone at State Farm hasn’t thought of this and used them for about a year while we train our workforce.

@wzt -

Give it some time, they will eventually have a talk with you about the concerning size of your inventory, and what you are doing wrong thats resulting in a large inventory. Wont ever be "sorry we just are not hiring enough" it will be "what about this 5min you had inactive" and 100% of the blame will be put on you.

They actually put injury CS on action plans when they overload them with too many claims and they cant catch up. Thats right. Its your fault....but hey, a new wave of hires are hitting the floor, and we cant be bothered to properly train so were going to have one of those people reaching out to you with questions all day, hope you dont mind having to train for free while you get smothered with new claims!

Its been like this for at least 5 years, possibly longer.

Unionize people and force the company to treat the claims workforce better

Property CS. Been in mandatory OT for over a year with no signs of letting up. Every time we go in office there’s less and less people.
Very grim. Workforce has not yet developed talent and they can’t keep anybody.

Injury CS here , I came into 7 new claims to start my day. I left having worked 13 new claims. Other people on my team left with 3-4 new claims untouched, which on a normal Monday would have been the average workload of 10 new claims for the day. All I could do today is answer the phone and work new claims, how am I going to settle any of my old claims ? I’m starting to look at other options myself, Sf doesn’t pay enough for how hard I work everyday.
