All the banks are laying off so it's not surprising that we're not an exception. More than 300 people have been cut so far and another 300+ will be shown the door in the coming days. What bugs me the most is that this is happening as we are busy hiring. Is there no way to put laid-off people in positions we're hiring for?

Big trouble in the FHLB and BTFP space especially for M&T. It's happening...
M&T is laying people off at all levels in Buffalo New York because of the Pub merger. My husband was told either he will be laid off or another manager in his deptment. Nothing like sitting back waiting for weeks to find out if we can pay our bills.
