Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Does anybody but me still like their job at Avaya?

Everybody seems unhappy and like they're hating not just the company but what they do. I don't. I have a good job with good pay and I am part of an excellent team. I'm constantly terrified of layoffs because I don't want to leave, which is also why I'm not currently looking for a new job. Reading the posts here, it sometimes feels like I'm the only one who feels this way.

I actually love my job, great benefits, great pay, nice boss. I'd work here for as long as I could. Did get screwed over bigtime with the stock drop, but great job. Just wished the upper level id--ts wouldn't have screwed everything up.

Thank God I was left this company back in 2012. It was terrible then and sounds like things only got worse. I was there when they (the big boys) took it private and always knew it was just a set up for an IPO and subsequent Pump and dump scheme. I pray for those remaining and their families.

No, praying at this stage that I'm one of the luck ones to be let go, did nothing actually last 18 months took 12 weeks vacation in Mexico and got away with it 😀 I'm sick of doing nothing in this dead beat company, I want to be paid to go.

I would also agree that some groups are more sheltered than others where it is impossible to get resources and back fill to replace the ones that leaves. In many groups if someone retires or leaves for another company, there is no back fill and work is given to someone else even if that group is swamped with work before the person left. Other departments get back fill approved with ease and no issues.

OP, what department are you in where you are seeing this positive experience if you dont mind me asking?

Regarding Post ID: @qvf+1iyhqQ4Y

Very well said post.
For those who were not associated with sales leadership during the ill-concieved subscription transition, then you may be able to bury your head and ignore the trail of damage. Yet the reality is,the company's value and it's future is dependent upon client retention and the balance of subscription 'soon-to-be' cloud or hybrid cloud. There is no such thing as one cloud no matter how many Batman and Barbie clown dances are posted. And yes, the board of directors are most at fault for allowing the C-Suite and Sales Leadership dysfunction to continue as long as it did.
Today we learned he CFO of Bed, Bath & Beyond ki---d himself. It's tragic. Another example of a Board of Directors not addressing issues before it was too late. The current reality is the following : there is nothing on this site that is not true. Is there added emotion and anger. Absolutely. Yet there are no bad facts. And the biggest reason for the current challenges is Avaya cultivated a culture of punishing anyone who spoke truth. AVAYA celebrate spin and ignorance. So, people who comment on the honest comments are really activating everyone's PTSD. People can't heal and move forward, with or without Avaya, if those special few who were shielded from the toxic culture dismiss others realities. AVAYA messed up. First the C Suite. Then the willing participants and the narks who bullied anyone who spoke up. And the BOD should be investigated by the SEC for not following the NYSE rules of protecting investors. AVAYA can't heal if the same old puppets complain that not everyone is following their lead to bury their head in the sand and just pretend simply because they are safe and well compensated. Avaya is operating at negative 50 on the ethics and integrity metric. It's a long road to recovery.

Nah, you aren't the only one that enjoys it, and appreciates the compensation. I am well paid, part of a good team, and heavily invested in Avaya's future. I am also furious at Avaya because everyone I know has been sounding warning bells for well over two years, and were frustrated by the Sales/C-Suite execs. We expressed our frustration in every available internal outlet, and it came to nothing. So, there is a fair heaping of "I told you so" appearing here, but also a lot of "let someone else force this hard decision on me so I can be out of here." Avaya is just bad enough that you'll stay for the pay and some kindred spirits. But in the back of your mind, you wish someone would push you out (while paying you as you leave).
