I wish I was as naive to be able to convince myself into something so devoid of reality as that is.

All I can say is that there is a tendency to think the FTs all deserved to stay put and I don't think that was the case at all. Most of you are good and do your jobs and are an asset. But I am not going to go for the "my FT was a SAINT" routine just like I would not go for the "my mother drunk or sober" thing. Not all FTs were good. Sorry, Reality. Not all moms are good, either.
I am not sure it is naivete as much as suspension of belief. For many this was a family. The other day I wrote regarding lazy FTs I saw. I worked with a few of them. I have evidence. I am not saying ALL FTs are lazy at all. But the Family at my store more or less ignored write ups and sloth and BBBY chose to keep some FTs when there were much more deserving folks who were let go. Those people should have been leads. You should not have to prod a lead to get to work, they make a poor example when they sandbag. And no, I never wanted to be anything more than PT hete because I did not trust the place. The store had 19 FTs when I joined bbby, and honestly at least 5 were useless. The other 14 were good workers. But it only took 5 to drag the place down and indeed it was one of them who hid in rugs all day.
I'll remind you of this in a month or two when the next major round comes around.
