Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Just the beginning

Bellevue wants more control. Watch for the vendors like Nokia and Ericsson to take over maintenance, monitoring and deployment of their equipment in the network. Regions will basically be eliminated. Everything will be planned and controlled from Bellevue.

Also Legacy Sprint's Wireline is being sold/spun off. TMO would rather pay competitors for backhaul service than to use a redundant network it owns. Paying ATT and Verizon for backhaul service seems like an odd business model. Every large outage that makes national news is because of a competitor's fiber cut. Not Legacy Sprints.

How can the vendors commit fraud?

Nothing would surprise me. The Regional teams and Markets are at war over these layoffs. Regions is trying to force market to take on more responsibility because regions decided to layoff people that were still needed. Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.

It's nonsense?!? Sprint used Goodman and Ericsson. TMUS extended their contracts so they could continue maintaining Legacy Sprint until the CDMA shut down. Sprint wouldn't have done it for so long if it wasn't cost effective. I don't think it was the best business plan. But they did it for 13 years

Sounds like the vendors will end up policing themselves. Can't imagine the likelihood of rampant fraud in this scenario. What could possibly go wrong?

Sprint used Ericsson to maintain it cell sites from Sept 2009 until July 2022. I guess anything is possible. They did layoff FT and keep contractors.

After seeing employee Field Techs get let go while we are in the middle of a build out I would believe it. There is something bigger going on.

The vendors would probably do a better job monitoring their own gear.
