Corporate capital investments make all the money with zero contribution from Labor / Day in the profits ?, If the Teamsters truck drivers just decided to pull over and not drive that is solidarity . That is the power we have , The BLET is affiliated with the teamsters men and women … If we allow a Congress, President, PEB to decide our fate then all hope is lost … So for every union paying member you’re about to find out how “Vote with your wallet the DM’s are right before the midterms”

When it comes down to anybody in Washington to give labor a fair shake we’re all screwed anyway. When’s the last time anything fair was produced there?
Agreed. We all know if this gets put before Moscow Mitch and his band of merry men, there is no chance they are going to side with Labor and give us a better contract.
There are only 2 options for getting a better contract, and they both center on Congress and are highly unlikely.
- Nationwide strike and Congress doesn't step in and the Carriers agree to our demands.I believe they will when they realize Congress will let the strike continue.
- Congress steps in and writes a better agreement for us.
Tell me how is it I see more stories about a UPS strike in the news when their contract doesn't expire until July 2023? The fact that we have barely any national media coverage, but yet are deemed so vital that the federal government will order us to work against our legal strike.
I'm at a loss, I work with pa----s. Now is the time we have to man up, and stand up. We need militant leadership in our unions not family men with $80000 trucks and$150000+ mortgages. If I have to rise up and be the m,f,ing messiah I will but it shouldn't be my fight alone. I ask my co workers to grow a backbone and strike with me against Congress forced contract. Let us have a system/nation wide sick out september 17th until the 31st I don't need a policing agency telling me when I can go on strike. Now is the time to make the share holders eat those profits.
I believe it was the smart union that caved on the last contract. Just saying
We need a union to protect us from the unions. They're as bad as the carrier.
Once again the sheep unions for the electrician, machinist and Carmen have buckled and accepted the peb recommendations as always. But don't worry, the blet has enough ba--s to carry everyone else. You all should be ashamed to call yourself railroaders. We have a real good chance at finally making a difference but as usual no one will stick together.
Labor Day was made a holiday because of the Pullman Strike (among earlier things).
I think it's just rich that the railroads want the government to stay out of the 2 person crew debate and the STB customer service debates and the long train debates and the attendance policy debates, but then turn around and insist they step in and return us to work after we seek self help on September 16...that's called a DOUBLE STANDARD!
We should not seek self help just for this POS contract, we should also seek self help to make needed adjustments to the unfair Railway Labor Act. Besides, these railroad id--ts claim labor cost are ki----g them, they want 1 man crews, they need to cut services and employees, etc., etc., etc.,....then by God, give them what they want!
Let these fat-a-s railroad white shirts do our job for once...time to draw a line in the sand! No, it's past time...
We must stick together. Unions have lost their power over the years. We can regain it right now with a show of solidarity. If we don’t, you might as well p*ss your dues down the drain. When will workers get tired of being pushed around? Stand up with each other and be proud and show the carriers that we are not dirt under their feet. If not now then all hope is lost. Old school members had backbones and fought for what they believed in. We should too. If our union leaders allow us to hang, then vote their as--s out.
