Not stupid nonsense at all, this was mentioned during Impact at a few places. Details to follow
reverse layoff? that literally means no layoff stupid
If this is true then this will actually be a blessing in disguise for the young SE folks who do get LRed. I have mentored several young SEs and told them all the same thing: “ if you want a long lasting career in tech then either try and get into engineering or CX early in career in order to get sone hands-on experience. If you stay as an SE you may make a bit more money but you sacrifice your long term career in tech industry.” It is so important for the young people to not get complacent early in career because they are earning a commission . Sacrifice some money and invest in your future now so you can rise faster.
But most people prefer money in hand over guidance from experienced older people. Getting them out of their comfort zone , even if that happens via a layoff, will have a very beneficial effect on their career path in long term.
Reverse layoff.. what a pompous term for laying off last in first out. It doesn't matter whether there's yet another LR or not. Chambers and Robbins destroyed the culture of doing more and loyalty years ago. We're all expecting layoffs year after year. Just do your job being aware the hammer is always hanging right above your head, ready to strike as fast as Robbins can count to 4.
It's already happening. RTP has been closed and replaced with San Jose which has seniority.
Just google it:
"In the event of a reduction in the work force, employees shall be laid off in reverse order of seniority provided that there are available employees with seniority whose capability and qualifications meet the Employer's requirements for the work of the laid off employees."
Details about what this is?
WTF is a reverse layoff? stop making up stupid nonsense.
