Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2015-2017 Ford Expedition SUVs over a blower motor failure issue.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the front blower motor located behind the glove box may fail.
The hazards: a front blower motor failure can increase the risk of a vehicle interior fire.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: front blower motor.
Affected vehicles: select 2015-2017 Ford Expedition models built at the Kentucky Truck plant between January 16th, 2014, and June 30th, 2017.
Number of vehicles affected: 198,482
The fix: dealers will replace the front blower motor assembly, free of charge.
