Just a horiible place to work. Telecommuters will be tripping over one another trying to return to the office. Employees will be looking over their shoulders at all times. Not looking forward to this.

doesn't make any sense not to telecommute. I'm on calls all day with peeps from all over the country so why go into the office and waste 2 hrs driving time. they get more of my time when I work from home!
It feels much like it did during the failed AT&T merger. It took JL getting hired to fix that. We have to be real though. JL had his share of layoffs too. The severence packages were no better, but the difference is mostly how they were communicated. This same layoff would almost definitely happened under his watch as well. But again, the difference would have been how it was executed and communicated. I get no impression that MS really cares a bit that 1000s are looking for new jobs. An employee-centric CEO would have gotten in front of the layoffs and made a statement. MS is just going on about SpaceX. This is the new work environment until the board of directors change it.
"And I always found it interesting that the surveys seemed to indicate that employees distrusted the SLT and felt that they were hypocrites."
And somehow still winning "best place to work" over and over.
I saw an article forecasting cable and T-Mobile as the places for secure employment until the economy settless. I want whatever dr-gs that writer was on.
As much as this situation sucks, gotta try n stay focused on taking care of what needs to get done. This will die down in a few weeks and things will be status quo. Make yourself indispensable BUT also keep the resume updated. Never hurts to see what else is out there while still employed.
Companies hate telecommuting. Tim Cook hates it, Elon hates it. You are only kidding yourself if you think TMUS will condone it. You will be tapped if you telecommute.
I don't think there was anything new said about coming to the office. It's just that nobody was eforcing the coming to office rules that were put in place 3 months ago.
Have they announced something new about going back to the office? I am a sr manager and have not heard anything.
I spoke to many L-M people who hated working at the "new" TMO. And I heard from just as many L-S people who hated working at TMO. Both gave the same reasons for their hatred. And I always found it interesting that the surveys seemed to indicate that employees distrusted the SLT and felt that they were hypocrites.
