Thread regarding VMware layoffs

"We are going to focus on our top 500 customers"

Heard this recently. No surprise at all. The financial geniuses at broadcom will probably open Excel sort customers by spend and cater to them and let every other customer go to h*ll.

80/20 rule. Fire your bottom 10% of customers. Etc.

No surprise, same as with CA aquisition, brcd, emlx ... and others ... there are no strategic takeovers by AVGO, heard that fom Tock himself ... it's about the easy money and the payback-time. When the juice is out of it, throw it away.

It will be top 1000. Broken out between strategic and transactional customers. Strategic will see a 5-10% uplift. Transactional will see a 20-40%. This is YOY.

  1. we do this today do you really think mom and pop shop that has a 1 million dollar spend has any pull at VMware? No.
  2. Last I heard on a townhall it was a bigger number than 500. Raghu even said that they do this today as well in terms of listening to only the mega spenders.
