Yes! But you also get a new atrium in the quad, with random food trucks and green spaces to clam you and "gathering spaces" to commiserate with your fellow employees. And we only spent a few million on that for you.

And the 14th floor is an old school office floor where all the middle aged white men sit with their white middle aged assistants memorizing what DEI and ESG stands for because we need to get the best workplace award (cringe!).

I 100 agree. I don’t care about an office I care about a job.

Surprising that the concern here is losing offices when people are losing JOBS. This is the least of our worries. We, as employees have never been given the "right" to hold our management accountable for their actions. And now that same management is going to get rid of us and release their golden parachutes as the company goes into a tailspin. Do you really think that Roman or Moni-Moni care for you in the least? They care for their paycheck. But make no mistake, "we the employees" must think beyond the paycheck, growth mindset and all and give it our 110%.

Only EVPs will have offices for most businesses

3M is 10 years behind the times on moving to flexible office space. Good riddance to the ancient disgusting offices and hierarchical office mentality. You can't get both flexibility and all assigned offices.

We lost our offices 2 years ago in HCBG and won’t have any until after the split now, and now we don’t know where we’ll be.

What is Mike having done on the 14th floor. Some kind of personal recreation center with pool tables?

At 3M Center that would take a ridiculous amount of money to retrofit the lab buildings. That will keep some people with offices longer than others.

Most 3M Center lab buildings have massive grandfathered building code issues from deep into the last century, so just the code updates alone are cost prohibitive. The whole reason building 280 was built at all was the simple fact is was cheaper than updating buildings 207 and 209. (Same with 301 over 208...)

Now, at any new buildings or renovations (except the ongoing 14th floor renovation) will go to full open office trash, because 3M really doesn't want any employees below the VP level anymore. In the new CBG areas of the quad I hear not even VPs have dedicated offices...

All the top dogs keep their office, but no one else. Almost like they want no one to come to work anymore.
