To the Claires person. At one time from 2016 to 2019, we were told at BBBY that it would be FINE with them if a customer balked about a price and we gave them 5 dollars off. No approval needed. In fact if you asked, you were told you don't have to waste time asking. A big problem was certain FEMs and gift cards, as they would ISSUE the cards to balance their drawers and not submit them. We caught at least two using them for themselves. One woman who I thought was good and religious was led out in handcuffs and confessed to the crime on the spot. It's like ebay. When I sold on there for years I was still certain I only knew of 20 percent of the scams buyers pulled! Tip of the iceberg.

Know what? Thank you for confirming what we both already knew about MyPillow. If it was not a direct return, it was very common to take back the soft one as people found it flimsy.

When I worked at Claire's there was a universal promo code we could use to give 20% off your total purchase for pretty much whatever reason we wanted. It was at the discretion of the manager on duty. If you were a really excellent guest, I might toss that 20% your way just because. There were also stacks of 20% off coupons with the supplies.
We had a period during the Summer of Pokemon GO! that our store was a Pokestop and ran a 20%-off promo where you could show us a pokemon you caught in or near our store or something like that. So essentially it was 20% off for 99% of people. Same promo code. And some of you guys may recall Claire's filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy a few years back, though they got out.
Just makes me wonder how many stores are out there, I'm talking staple chain retailers, have that kind of thing and have a system where base-or-mid-level employees can easily "get away with" handing coupons out so liberally. I feel like I have to assume that a good number of those stores work similarly and just have a single "promo" code that a MOD or even just an associate could essentially add on for any reason they may feel they "need to," and I'd be interested to know if that kind of thing causes these sorts of big, obvious financial hits for the company or not.

As a former RTV specialist, I guarantee y'all MyPillow was one of the most returned products ever.

Our business was in trouble long before dropping the most returned pillow.

You know, come to think of it, where were all the fake "patriots" when we had MyPillows stacked floor to ceiling in 2019 and nobody was buying them? Oh- I know- refusing to buy them at $49!!!!
