We are nothing but a number to all of them. They don't see us as an asset that brings in profit but as the biggest expense they want to cut as much as they can. If they could, they would run this company with no employees, but sadly for them, that's not possible. In the absence of that, they'll try to reduce the number as much as they can and saddle those who stay with as much work as possible. This means that both those being laid off and those who are staying are getting screwed over.
