Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Why would anybody join?

Once upon a time, you could have an actual career at Walmart. Now, all new employees can expect is to get a part-time job with open availability and zero benefits. Not to mention that even fast food pays better these days. Why anybody new is willing to join (unless they are truly out of options) is beyond me.

Did a 9 year old make that last post? Someone needs to go back to 5th grade English class. It makes no sense, again. Give it a rest.

Yawn.

I have found out that most people can think for themselves. i think your saying people need to be spoon fed. You have depraved misguided blind disconnecred wmt present culture. People can check this , wmt lost 4 mil about a black shopper. how about BLM ice cream? You can delusionaly put yourself in a position of thinking your ssomebody special like most wmt corp people do. Now if you answer with "yawn" to me that saying what you do all day on the job because wmt continues to slide. The words you use in your comments expresses what you do on your shift. All layoffs and store closings begin at the corporate level. I hate to see your ready to go updated resume, get a pro to do it for you. Hourly position or layoff on your agenda and you did it to yourself old buddy. "The writting is on the wall prepare.

Of course, anyone can post on these threads. Most or all of it is wrong or straight out lies by low life social media lemmings that simply have no life, and no meaningful way to spend their time. They post here to make themselves appear to be smart or non-boring.

Minister of wmt truth as I see what you are saying . A reasonably factual truthful statement to the to the minister of walmart is stupid. But a contrived made up spin is intelligent . So expressing a statement as stupid implies that you are intelligent.
youll like this : So a statement like all layoffs and store closings begin at the corp level is why the present disconnected planning layoffs and store closings wmt corp culture is riding high on the crest of the avalanch. Dont leave your up dated resume in the wmt system, download to a flash drive, buddy. Something scarry to think about , you working like an hourly.

The part about no benefits is a lie. Part timers get dental, accident, vision and a bunch of others

There are no careers to be had nothing comes close to sams corp culture. Of course you could become one of the present ,disconnected, not back from lunch yet, soulless , depraved present wmt corp culture minister of the controlled narrative of wmt truth. Why would you want to work in a corp culture that has no fear of destroying a company with ill conceived follow the competition moves. 10,000 electric vans. in calif you cant charge them and colorado your thermostat is company controlled. no electric power. But But we are walmart. The magic is long gone.

You just made my case. Thank you! Just wondering, which of those (previously listed) undesirable categories did you fall into? I’m thinking at least 3 or 4.

No… actually that is not it.. “intent to get rid of the undesirables”. I was there for 10 years had the same schedule for 10 years, full time. Then they come up with BULL where if you don’t work what shift they come up with you will lose your health care, and full time status. That’s a way to reward long time veterans right?? It’s was a way to push out full timers because they don’t give a st about you or anyone else. They are a terrible company and treat their employees like cr-p. I’m glad I left. I work from home now. Better pay, M-F, paid holidays and weekends off.

I have to admit, you’re half right. The new team scheduling is intended to get rid of undesirable associates. Those are the ones that are lazy, spend a lot of time on their phones, in the restroom and the back room. They try to act like they are working, but they aren’t. The ones that call in a lot. Late a lot. Argue with supervisors. Don’t do what they tell you to do. Steal stuff. Are prone to confrontation……

If you fit in one or more of those categories, it’s entirely possible not even Walmart wants you working for them.

Employees fill out an availability sheet for a reason. The world doesn’t revolve around Walmart and people do have lives outside of work. Walmart will lose and have lost great employees due to their practices which hopefully in the long run will hurt them. Maybe they will become the next Kmart.

The new team scheduling is BS. They made it to force people out the door and by people I mean full timers. Full time needs to be open to what ever hours they want you to work but PT can keep their availability. Walmart is a C**P company that doesn’t value their employees especially long term ones. I’m glad I left. There is no future at Walmart. Get out now. They treat their employees awful and don’t value them. You are nothing but a number.

The person did lay blame!! Just like home office stinking thinking!! What they said was there is another work force out there: some can work weekends, some Tuesday - Thursday or whatever! People who are dependable and showup and use sound judgement!! Get off the blame game and look at the whole picture!! Common sense works!

Like it’s Walmart’s fault YOU might have personal or family situations so you can’t work? I wasn’t aware it was Walmart’s required responsibility to work around your schedule.

Sadly the Wal Mart corporate puts no value in hiring part timers with limited availability, who are dedicated hard workers and show up!! Some people have family situations that require them to take care of illness in the family!! Shame on WalMart Corp for their availability restrictions!!! Missing out on dependable workers!!!

Well, when you’ve got a horrible work history, no references, been fired from every job you ever had, an arrest record, no high school diploma and couldn’t write a full paragraph with correct punctuation, spelling and clarity……. Your employment options become limited down to fast food and Walmart.
