Trust me, I was with Nortel during the 10 long hellish years between 2000-2010 when they averaged laying off 100 people per month.
This layoff was colder than anything I've ever witnessed, and this, coming from a company who frames themselves as "caring" and woke. At the last CEO hands-on, when the question of layoffs came up, the answers that came from the senior mgmt was the type of answers a politician gives when they do not want to answer with the truth. It was evasive, with no information as to what was on the horizon. When the senior mgmt ceases being transparent, expect the worse.
It was also cold in that this layoff was not based on merit but almost certainly based on salary, which means people with years of service, who have been loyal to T-Mob were not given any warning that they were on the chopping block. They weren't even given a time period to find another position within the company, so that at least the company could gain from that person's skills in another dept.
I doubt I will ever believe anything this company ever says, certainly not what this CEO says.
