Only if those assets are lucky.
Being bought by MPC was the second-worst thing that ever happened to LAR.
Being taken over by the clowns at Carson was the first.
There are rumors about selling transportation fleets in the west...
To the persons who hate MPC and think our SVP are “stiffs”. You both probably coasted during the Andeavor times and it shows. Now that MPC is trying to get these plants straightened out you’re all complaining about the (much needed) oversight. Should have done things right the first time
The Andeavor leadership at least had personalities and were normal people when they came to visit. The MPC team that came out acted like a bunch of entitled stiffs, think they expected us to bow a salute them or something. F*+% them
Half of the SVP's were in Anacortes and Kenai the middle of last month to reiterate their commitment to the sites, so yeah, they're probably on the sale block lol
God I hope so. As an employee in the west, I wouldn’t be happier having a different owner. I’ve never hated a company more than I do MPC
MPC publicly tried to sell andeavor assets after Gary was fired or right around then.
LAR won’t be sold, it’s the best asset at MPC and higher profits than Garyville.
Canton is worst and Catlettsburg close behind
Yup the companies that own refineries today will be shutting them down not selling them. Shell / P66 / Lyondell all attempted to sell Gulf coast assets if there are no buyers for those there are definitely no buyers for LAR and Anacortes.
Do not think anyone wants them - California has already set a date to ban the sale ICE vehicles and others western states will soon follow suit. MPC should have realized this prior to spending big money on Andeaver.
