Datadog vs Cisco Appdynamics

Hi community,

Wondering to know your comments about these techs and is it worthy to switch from Cisco (with networking/security experience) to Datadog

Thanks

The other comments are not true. AppD DOES have network and security capability.

Datadog is one of the worst products I have ever used. I really like OTEL much better.
AppD has lots of great capabilities too
Curious why you asked on this site? Seems odd.

Datadog is good. AppD only focuses on APM and has no security and network visibility capabilities. AppD was trying to get a security module added but as all companies die after Cisco acquisition, it never went through. Instead the founders of AppD left Cisco and started a new company focusing on application security in a hope to be acquired by Cisco and Cisco will waste another Billions of $$ for useless acquisition.

DataDog has wider capabilities and have been slowly adding a lots of capabilities from network, security and application visibility to cloud, logging, user experience, synthetic monitoring. It is good and you wont regret the move.
