Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

It’s just recognition!!

Our Executive Committee doesn’t have this in them. When times were tough and we were freezing salary and cutting thrift matching… “we’re all in this together”. Guess for our EC that only goes one way.

“In recognition of the contribution our people have made to Shell’s strong operational performance against a recent challenging backdrop, our Executive Committee has decided to make a Special Recognition Award of 8% of salary to all eligible staff across the world.’’

“The award enables those employees to share in our current operational and financial success. It is not a response to inflation or cost-of-living challenges.”

OP, DW and the forty thieves just refuse to accept this. They will never accept this simple concept. Time to move on guys. Let DW, JW, NC, and the rest of the gang run the refineries. After all, we are in this together and we are ExxonMobil, right?

That doesn’t fit with the ‘variable pay sucks, our system is better’ narrative. Neither does the loss of 401k benefits but who’s tallying up hypocrisy at this point?
